This is Grandmother Willa Elizabeth Diamond Yates (1890-1943). Since she died several years before I was born, I never knew her. My father and his siblings always spoke so lovingly of her. I wondered what she was like, the kind of person she was. A Few years ago I did get to know her while reading letters she and my father exchanged during 1941-1943. The voice from her letters tells what a loving, Christian, educated, warm, caring person she was.
