Polarized vs. Non-Polarized Sunglasses—What’s the Difference? 😎

Not all sunglasses are created equal, and your eyes deserve the best protection!

🕶️ Non-Polarized Lenses
✔ Reduce overall brightness
✔ Basic UV protection (if labeled UV400)
✔ Good for general, everyday use

🌊 Polarized Lenses
✔ Reduce glare from reflective surfaces (water, roads, snow)
✔ Sharper, clearer vision
✔ Less eye strain—perfect for driving, fishing, golf and other outdoor activities

☀️ Why Sunglasses Matter:
UV exposure can increase your risk of cataracts, macular degeneration, and long-term eye damage. Quality sunglasses help protect your vision now and in the future.

👁️ Not sure which is best for you? We’re happy to help you find the perfect pair for your lifestyle!

Protect Your Vision as the Days Get Longer ☀️

With the sun staying out later, our eyes are getting significantly more sun exposure with the great outdoors. While we all love the extra daylight, it’s important to remember that UV damage is cumulative. Every hour of unprotected exposure adds up over a lifetime, increasing the risk of cataracts and macular degeneration.

Here are three things to keep in mind before you head out:

1. Sunglasses are Medical Devices
They aren't just a fashion statement! High-quality sunglasses are essential tools designed to filter out 100% of UVA and UVB rays.

2. Don’t Forget the Kids
Children’s eyes are more transparent than adult eyes, meaning more UV light reaches their retinas. Since they often spend more time outside than adults, starting the habit of wearing "cool" shades early is the best way to protect their vision for the future!!

3. Clouds Don't Block UV
Even on overcast days, up to 80% of UV rays can pass through clouds. If you’re outside for an extended period, your eyes need protection regardless of the forecast.

Is it time for a prescription sun-check? Stop by the clinic to browse our latest sunglass options and ensure your vision is ready for the brightest season of the year! 🕶️

🔥 A warm compress increases blood flow and helps unclog oil glands at the eyelid.
❄️ A cool compress constricts blood vessels and helps the appearance of dark circles and puffy eyes. It can also relieve symptoms of itching and inflammation

Have you ever used a warm or cool compress around the eye?! ⬇️

Do your eyes feel tired after long periods on a computer, tablet, or phone? 💻👀

Try the 20-20-20 rule:
Every 20 minutes, look at something 20 feet away for at least 20 seconds.

This simple habit helps:
✔ Reduce digital eye strain
✔ Relax your focusing muscles
✔ Prevent dry, tired eyes from too much screen time

Kids and adults alike are spending more time on devices than ever, so small breaks can make a big difference for long-term eye comfort.
