When I say spread your fingers out wide!
Spreading the fingers out wide helps to even out the pressure put on the wrist and hand to support body weight in poses like plank and downward facing dog.
Because of the flowing nature of yoga, we spend a lot of time shifting the body weight as we transition from pose to pose… it’s important to have a strong base that can help support the joints as we change the center of gravity, as we transfer body weight from feet to hands and hands to feet.
Think about spreading the fingers out wide, pressing down through the thumb, index, pinkie and heel of the palm … picture pressing the earth down rather than yourself up.
