Cold air can worsen asthma, COPD, and other breathing conditions.

To reduce flare-ups:

Keep rescue inhalers easily accessible (not left in cold vehicles)

Cover your mouth and nose with a scarf to warm the air you breathe

Take medications exactly as prescribed—don’t skip doses due to weather

Seek help if breathing becomes difficult or symptoms worsen

Your pharmacist can help review inhaler technique and refill needs during extreme weather.
