This carousel was created for every young girl who is learning to navigate the depths of love and romantic relationships, for women my age & older, who are recovering from their own personal blind crash course in romantic relationships, for every client that I serve who has struggled with codependency, and for past versions of myself who has also fumbled my way through romantic relationships in the dark, trying to maintain my balance when falling in love with a man—remembering that the ultimate source of love is God and even when the love from a man is good — he’s still not God.

As the 4th of July fireworks begin, my thoughts are with all my combat veterans.

Remember to:

1. Wear your ear plugs or noise canceling headphones
2. Challenge unhelpful thoughts that do not fit your current reality (list 5 pieces of evidence that you are safe)
3. Get close to your pets, pet and cuddle them to self soothe (more than likely they need comforting too!)
4. Engage in deep breathing exercises
5. Turn on some meditation music/soothing sounds
6. Phone a friend to share your distress
7. Remember the crisis lines are available to you. Use them…even if you don’t feel like you are in crisis—if you feel uneasy call any ways—-they are there to support you.
