AI Creates the Most Detailed 3D Map of the Human Brain Ever Made

A new AI-assisted brain atlas called NextBrain provides the most detailed digital reconstruction of the human brain ever achieved.

Built from 10,000 microscopic sections and guided by artificial intelligence, it maps hundreds of regions that can now be analyzed in MRI scans of living patients.

The atlas captures subtle variations linked to ageing and disease that existing maps miss.

Its open-source release will accelerate early detection of brain disorders such as Alzheimer’s and deepen our understanding of human cognition.
