It’s not just about going to the bathroom… it’s how you go.
Here are a few quick signs to know when things are normal vs. when to seek help:

✅ Generally normal:
• smooth, soft “sausage” shape (types 3–4)
• brown color
• no pain and no excessive straining
• a regular pattern for you (many people go 1–3 times a day or every other day)

🚩 Seek medical help if you notice:
• bright red blood or black, tar-like stools
• severe pain, fever, or vomiting
• a sudden change in your bowel habits lasting more than 2–3 weeks
• severe constipation (several days without a bowel movement) or ongoing diarrhea
• unexplained weight loss or significant weakness
• consistently pencil-thin stools

Your body gives signals. Don’t normalize them. 💛
