Next Sunday, Feb 8, monthly Preciousness of Ta**ra series resumes at 5pm-6:30pm. Center members can zoom the class, and everyone can drop-in in person, regardless of experience.

The topic on February 8 is the union of appearance and emptiness. Gen Jindak will give some commentary and guid meditations.

On this special Saturday, Gen Jindak will grant the blessing empowerment of Buddha Vajrapani and give teachings on how to develop a strong and confident mind. Buddha Vajrapani is the embodiment of the spiritual power of all the enlightened beings. He can help us pacify all obstacles through the force of a very powerful mental suppleness. In particular he helps us to overcome the inner enemies of delusions such as attachment, anger and ignorance. Gen Lhadron will guided a morning retreat about How to Transform the Way You Love. Then she will teach the Sunday Morning class on February 15 at 11am-12:45pm.

Gen Kelsang Lhadron is an American Buddhist nun who since 2001 has been a student of Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso and practicing Kadampa Buddhism. Gen Lhadron’s sincere teachings are presented with humor and practical examples that make them accessible to everyone. Today is the celebration of Heruka day!

You can join our meditation class at 11am-12:30pm when the topic is overcoming obstacles. A delcious vegetarian lunch is served after the class.

Then at 1:30pm-3pm we can enjoy the beautiful prayers, Offering to the Spiritual Guide where we make offerings and requests to gain all the realizations of the stages of the path to enlightenment.

Our Story

Kadampa Meditation Center Fort Lauderdale (KMC Ft Lauderdale) has been offering programs in meditation and modern Buddhism since 2016. Located 3 blocks from the Lauderdale-by-the-Sea beach, KMC Ft Lauderdale is a haven of peace and tranquility that is open to everyone. People from all walks of life are welcome to experience the joy of meditation and discover practical solutions to life’s problems that can be found in Buddha’s teachings.

Our Founder KMC Ft Lauderdale is a member of the New Kadampa Tradition - International Kadampa Buddhist Union. Founded by the renowned meditation master Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche, the NKT-IKBU has over 1,200 centers worldwide in over 40 different countries. Everyone is welcome. www.kadampa.org

Resident Teacher Gen Kelsang Norbu was ordained in 2006 by Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche, and was requested by him to be the Resident Teacher of KMC Ft Lauderdale. He earned the title ‘Gen’ in 2012, indicating that he is a senior ordained teacher in the New Kadampa Tradition of modern Buddhism.
