Traumatic Brain Injury can happen to anyone, not just athletes.

Many TBIs happen during everyday situations like falls, car accidents, or acts of violence. Understanding the most common causes helps us become more aware and take steps to protect ourselves and the people we love.

Awareness is the first step toward prevention. Even small safety measures can make a big difference in protecting our brain health.

Did you know?

Every year, tens of thousands of children in the United States are hospitalized because of serious brain injuries. Many of these injuries happen due to car crashes, falls, sports-related incidents, or abuse.

Young children ages 0–4 and teenagers ages 15–19 are among those at the highest risk. Brain injuries can have lasting effects on a child’s development, learning, and daily life.

Raising awareness and promoting safety at home, on the road, and during sports can help reduce the risk and protect young lives.

If you or someone you know is affected by a brain injury, we’re here to help. 💚

Even one concussion from years ago can leave a mark on your brain, sometimes 10 or 20 years later. It might not show up right away, but subtle changes can linger.

New tests tracking eye movement are helping scientists spot these hidden effects, proving brain injuries aren’t always “out of sight, out of mind.”

If you had a concussion before and notice memory or focus issues, don’t ignore it. Your brain remembers more than you think.

Based on recent CDC data, TBI remains a major cause of death and disability in the U.S., claiming roughly 190 lives every single day.

Whether it’s a senior citizen whose fall is misdiagnosed as confusion, or a child whose brain development is interrupted by an injury, the impact is real and widespread.

Behind every statistic is a story, a family, and a journey of resilience.

This March, we want to shine a light on the reality of Brain Injury in our community. The numbers tell us why awareness is so urgent:

⏱️ Every 9 seconds: Someone in the U.S. sustains a brain injury.
👥 5.3 Million: The estimated number of Americans currently living with a TBI-related disability.
⚠️ The #1 Cause: While we often think of sports, it is vital to know that falls continue to be the leading cause of brain injuries.

At Radius TBI, we understand that a brain injury is more than just a medical event—it changes how you live, think, and feel. Whether you are a survivor, a caregiver, or an advocate, your strength inspires us every day.

Let’s look out for one another this month. Watch your step, check on your loved ones, and keep the conversation going.

Drop a 💙 in the comments if you or someone you love is part of the TBI community.

Did you know that repeated hits to the head, such as those from contact sports or military service, can lead to a condition called CTE? Researchers have found that people with the most severe form of CTE are much more likely to develop dementia later in life.

This is a good reminder for all of us to look out for our brains, whether we are at play, at work, or just going about our day. Take care of yourself and check in on those around you. Our brains matter and so do you.

Being a warrior isn’t always about fighting loud battles. It is the quiet choice to keep moving forward when things feel overwhelming. It tests your resolve and your spirit but it also highlights the incredible strength you carry inside you every single day.

If today requires extra courage, know this: you are doing the hard work even when no one is watching. Your resilience is built in the moments where you choose to try again. Every bit of patience you show yourself is an act of bravery.

Keep trusting your strength. You are fighting a battle others can’t see and doing it with grace.
