Alzheimer's disease is typically associated with older adults, but it can also affect younger people. Early-onset Alzheimer's can occur in individuals under the age of 65 and is often associated with genetic factors. Detecting Alzheimer's in young people can be challenging, as the symptoms may be mistaken for other conditions. However, imaging tests, cognitive assessments, and genetic testing can help diagnose the disease in younger individuals. Early detection and management can help improve outcomes and quality of life for those living with early-onset Alzheimer's.

Blood pressure is measured in millimeters of mercury (mm Hg). A blood pressure reading has two numbers.
🔵Top number, called systolic pressure. The first, or upper, number measures the pressure in the arteries when the heart beats.
🔵Bottom number, called diastolic pressure. The second, or lower, number measures the pressure in the arteries between heartbeats.
High blood pressure (hypertension) is diagnosed if the blood pressure reading is equal to or greater than 130/80 mm Hg. A diagnosis of high blood pressure is usually based on the average of two or more readings taken on separate occasions.

The most common signs and symptoms of arthritis involve the joints. Depending on the type of arthritis, signs and symptoms may include:
-Pain
-Stiffness
-Swelling
-Redness
-Decreased range of motion
🔵 The two main types of arthritis — osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis — damage joints in different ways.
🔵 Osteoarthritis - The most common type of arthritis, osteoarthritis involves wear-and-tear damage to a joint's cartilage.
🔵 Rheumatoid arthritis - In rheumatoid arthritis, the body's immune system attacks the lining of the joint capsule, a tough membrane that encloses all the joint parts. This lining (synovial membrane) becomes inflamed and swollen. The disease process can eventually destroy cartilage and bone within the joint.
If you’re experiencing any of the previous symptoms, Dr. Wilfred McKenzie and Dr. Rona McKenzie of McKenzie Medical Associates are highly experience in helping patients manage their arthritis symptoms using an array of conservative treatments including medication, therapy, and lifestyle changes.
