It’s National Brain 🧠 Week.

I know right...who knew??? That’s definitely a new one for me. So what better way to start the week then a quick article of how to keep your 🧠 young. With all the stress we have endured over the last year this information could not come at a better time.

Let’s start with a few fun facts!!!

Your 🧠 weights in at a whopping 3lbs

Your 🧠 receives about 20% of the blood flow, calories and oxygen every second / 24 hours /7 days a week

60% of the 🧠 is Fat!!!

75% of that fat is DHA

Being your own health advocate means being proactive to support your Immune and physical health. As a trainer we teach our clients to ask questions for understanding and to learn how the body works.

For examples it is usually the smaller muscle fibers that are negelated and weak that leads to a sprain, strain or tear. Larger fibers are focused in weight lifting while the smaller one are left inactive or not firing to assist in the muscle firing sequence. This usually leads to injury.

The same can be said with our immune system. Understanding why one takes a supplement/activator or vitamin and knowing how it works in the body gives you more power to take control of your immune health. We call it
PROACTIVE IMMUNITY!

Over the next few days I will be posting about 5 THRIVING supporters of Immune health.
Feel free to weight in on the discussion.

We will start with ZINC

Glutathione is a powerful antioxidant found in every cell in the body. It is made of three types of molecules known as amino acids.
Amino acids combine in different patterns to make all of the proteins in the body.
One unique thing about glutathione is that the body is able to make it in the liver, which is not true of most antioxidants.

Glutathione has many important functions, including:

🧬 making DNA, the building blocks of proteins and cells
πŸ’ͺ🏾 supporting immune function
🎯 forming s***m cells
πŸ”½ breaking down some free radicals
πŸ›  helping certain enzymes function
🍊 regenerating vitamins C and E
🧠 transporting mercury out of the brain
πŸ‘πŸ½ helping the liver and gallbladder deal with fats
πŸ”¬ assisting regular cell death (a process known as apoptosis)

Researchers have found links between low levels of glutathione and some diseases. It is possible to increase glutathione levels through activating the natural glutathione production in the body.

That were this little wonder comes in. Interested in learning more????

Glutathione... the body produces it naturally but overtime a decline in production occurs due to cell damage and breakdowns in the body. Imagine if you could help your body produce more naturally. So instead of supplementing your body you active it to produce more glutathione. Well that’s what this little guy does. It increases the natural production by 300%. What more information about how this little guy works put a πŸ‘‹πŸΎ in the comment below.
