Yoga with Koa

Yoga with Koa Private and semi private yoga lessons are available. Private sessions are tailored per individual.

Classes are designed to challenge each student wherever they may be on their yoga journey, beginning with the basics of alignment and offering moderate to advanced variations. Along with the big emphasis on alignment cues, classes are also accompanied with hands on adjustments. Privates lessons are offered which will be constructed on an individual basis to complement each particular need.

Extended Side Angle (Utthita Parsvakonasana)

• Root through both feet - 3 points of contact (big/pinky toe ball mound, heel)
• Bend the front knee deeply over the toes
• Draw the legs toward the midline
• Lengthen side body
• Rotate chest upwards while staying lifted in side waist
• Reach long through the top arm, eye gaze towards finger tips if possible

• Root the 3 points of contact of the back foot, lift inner arch
• Press through the big toe ball mound
• Engage the inner thighs towards midline
• Stabilize the pelvis and lift the low belly
• Lengthen the low waist / side body
• Revolve the rib cage and heart open while staying lifted
• Reach the crown of the head away from the back foot

If you bind make sure to lengthen from waistlines and rotate from shoulders, then reach back, bend elbows and clasp to towel, hands, or opposite wrist!
