Physical health is built through the habits we practice every day.

The Physical Driver of BLU’s 5 Drivers of Health & Wellness© focuses on the foundational behaviors that support long-term strength and resilience.

Sleep helps the body recover.
Movement keeps the body active.
Strength supports mobility and independence over time.

Taking care of yourself means creating a body that is strong, capable, and resilient.

Foam rolling your lats and upper back can help release tension, improve movement, and support better posture—especially if you’re lifting, running, or sitting a lot throughout the day.

Why it matters:

• Reduces tightness and stiffness in the upper body
• Improves shoulder mobility and range of motion
• Supports better posture and alignment
• Helps your body recover between workouts

When to do it:

• Before a workout to open up movement
• After training to support recovery
• On rest days to stay loose and mobile

Simple. Effective. And something most people skip.

VO₂ Max measures how efficiently your heart, lungs, and muscles use oxygen during exercise. It is widely considered one of the strongest indicators of cardiovascular fitness and long-term health.

A higher VO₂ Max is associated with improved endurance, better metabolic health, and a lower risk of cardiovascular disease.

At BLU, we assess VO₂ Max as one of our 5 Vitality Measures and help Members improve it through targeted training and consistent movement.

Ways to support improvements in VO₂ Max include:

• Interval training
• Brisk walking or jogging
• Cycling or rowing
• Strength training that challenges the cardiovascular system

We often spend years working to build wealth, security, and success.

But the truth is that none of those things mean much if we don’t have the health to enjoy them.
Investing in your health is one of the most important decisions you can make. The habits you build today influence how you will feel, move, and live in the years ahead.

Our goal is to help people protect and strengthen their most valuable asset: their health.

“I always thought I was healthy,” says BLU Executive Member Bill Mitchell, “but didn't really realize I was kinda like the frog in a kettle where my health was slowly, progressively getting less.”

Through a combination of testing, personal training, nutrition guidance, and ongoing BLU support, Bill lost 2.2 pounds of visceral fat in just a few months and 13 pounds of body fat.

What he is learning from the BLU Team he is able to apply into all areas of his life. He doesn’t have to count calories - he can just use what he has learned for habit change.

In case you missed it! 🎥✨ BLU was featured on DECO Drive with Steve Shapiro.

Drs. Gordon and Jessica Chen shared the vision behind BLU and walked Steve through what makes it different, how it’s designed to support health, wellness, and longevity.

Grateful for the opportunity to spotlight the work and the mission behind it.

Many of us spend a large part of the day looking at screens.

One simple way to support visual comfort is by using blue light–blocking glasses as part of your routine.

Drs. Gordon and Jessica Chen choose RA Optics for their high-quality lenses and the added support these glasses provide throughout the day and into the evening.

Anything they personally use, test, and find helpful, they love sharing with BLU Members.

Ask our BLU Medical Team for more details and purchasing options.

Cooling down after a workout helps your body transition into recovery. Even 5 minutes can make a difference.

Try incorporating movements like these into your daily routine:

• Sitting Side Stretch – lengthen the sides of the body and slow your breathing
• Downward Dog – stretch hamstrings, calves, shoulders, and back
• Figure Four Stretch – release tension in the hips and glutes
• Shavasana – allow the body and nervous system to fully relax

Small habits like this support flexibility, recovery, and long-term movement health.

Movement is one of the most powerful tools we have for longevity.

Longevity has rhythm.

Move your body.
Engage your mind.
Connect with others.

What are your rhythms?

One of the perks of being a BLU Member is enjoying Dr. Jessica’s granola.

Made with thoughtfully chosen whole-food ingredients, this Member favorite offers a simple, nourishing way to start the day.

Organic Whole grains, nuts, seeds, and extra-virgin olive oil provide fiber, healthy fats, and naturally occurring plant compounds such as polyphenols, which are known to support overall health and metabolic function.

Diets rich in these kinds of whole foods are also often associated with improvements in body composition, including a significant reduction in visceral fat.

Sometimes the simplest foods are the most satisfying.

Another small way BLU supports our Members’ journey toward better health.

Longevity is not just biological. It is personal.

The Personal Driver of BLU’s 5 Drivers of Health & Wellness© encourages us to think intentionally about the life we want to live in the years ahead.

By reflecting on our purpose, aligning our priorities, and creating a plan to support our future health, we begin to shape the years ahead with intention.

Our team at BLU believes the goal is not simply to live longer, but to create the conditions that allow your best years to still be ahead.
