That Yoga Chick

That Yoga Chick Stephanie offers massage therapy & professional yoga instruction out of Fort Lauderdale, FL. Special In college, she earned the nickname 'That Yoga Chick'.

Stephanie has experience as both a patient and a provider of various therapeutic modalities. In 2002 she was in a near fatal car accident & struggled to manage her chronic pain. After completing about year of intense physical therapy, she still had reoccurring symptoms. Her doctor recommended yoga as something to help relieve her chronic tension. Little did she know that would lead her down a path that would change her life.

She wanted to learn more on the bodies ability to heal naturally, by living a balanced healthy lifestyle. Stephanie attended the University of Texas at San Antonio where she earned her bachelors degree in kinesiology (the study of human movement). For her, yoga was the key to helping her manage her pain; and she wanted to share this profound knowledge with others.

In 2010, she became a licensed massage therapist so that she could take her brand of movement therapy to the next level. Stephanie specializes in neuromuscular therapy, myofascial release, instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization & kinesiology taping. She is also a certified neurostim MPS practitioner.

Stephanie currently practices massage therapy at Prana Bodyworks & teaches yoga classes at Original Hot Yoga Fort Lauderdale.

Therapeutic massage sessions are by appointment only.

She also teaches yoga at Original Hot Yoga Fort Lauderdale every Sunday at 12pm.

A breakthrough discovery from the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology has revealed lymphatic vessels lying just beneath the skin of the face and neck. Once thought buried deep in the body, these vessels play a vital role in draining cerebrospinal fluid, which clears toxic proteins linked to Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease.

In mice, scientists used a gentle device that stroked the face and neck, tripling cerebrospinal fluid flow within a minute. Remarkably, this restored older animals’ brain fluid movement to youthful levels, a change that could have major implications for slowing age-related neurodegeneration and cognitive decline.

Early experiments in monkeys show similar promise, raising hope that simple, non-invasive stimulation could one day support human brain health. By enhancing natural drainage pathways, this method might become a powerful new tool for preventing neurological diseases. Source: Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology Research.
