Dancing Mindfulness & Expressive Art Therapy by Mindful Journey Center

Dancing Mindfulness & Expressive Art Therapy by Mindful Journey Center If you are the kind of person who likes to dance like no one is watching, or at least would like to try, the Dancing Mindfulness experience is for you!

Dancing Mindfulness classes are open to everyone regardless of previous experience with dance, yoga, music, meditation, or spiritual practice, even though Dancing Mindfulness incorporates all of these elements. Since Dancing Mindfulness focuses on “coming as you are,” self-discovery, and noticing whatever may happen as part of the experience, it is imperative that classes are crafted to welcome everyone. Dancing Mindfulness classes range from 45 minutes to 2 hours, depending on the venue of and purpose for the class, and various forms of music are incorporated to create a welcoming, integrated container. In a typical Dancing Mindfulness class, participants will be able to realize the rhythmic qualities of their breathing and heartbeats, to discover the healing, lyrical properties in even the most simple movements, and quite literally, to be able to express their own, personal story on the dance floor.

Curious about sound healing? 🎧✨

Sound doesn’t just reach your ears—it reaches your nervous system. Sometimes healing starts with listening instead of talking.

Stay curious.

Your body already understands more than you think.

EMDR is not just an 8-phase protocol.

It’s a relational therapy.

The nervous systems in the room
are always interacting—
whether we name it or not.

Walking through the streets of Oaxaca feels like an adventure that invites me to explore with all my senses.
As I take in the colors and moments around me, I feel called to bring them onto the pages of my journal.

My visual journal invites me to go deeper.
It helps me slow down, stay present, and really let what matters sink in.

How do you keep your travel memories?
Have you ever gone back and revisited a place through your photos or journal pages?

An invitation to slow down ✨

To connect with yourself through gentle movement, writing, silence, and drawing.

To pause… listen… and make space.

As we step into 2026, we don’t need to rush or force anything.

Sometimes what helps our intentions manifest is simply giving them room to breathe.

Move. Write. Sit in silence. Draw what words can’t hold.

Let your intention for 2026 meet you where you are 🤍

Eating in a new place can be a mindfulness practice. Slowing down, noticing the flavors, textures, colors, and even the sounds around you. Letting each bite be an experience instead of something rushed.

These moments of presence often spark inspiration—feelings, memories, ideas, or creativity we didn’t expect. Sometimes a meal becomes more than food; it becomes a way to connect with ourselves and express what we’re sensing, feeling, or learning along the way.

Travel has a gentle way of inviting us to stretch our boundaries—trying new foods, hearing new languages, walking unfamiliar streets. At the same time, it asks us to slow down and be present with what’s right in front of us.

In those in-between moments—between the known and the unknown—we often find inspiration. A color, a conversation, a feeling we didn’t expect. Travel reminds us that growth may from fully being where we are and allowing the experience to meet us just as we are.

Let’s take everything to our journal pages! 🇲🇽🥰📝

Visiting new places. Trying new flavors. Being fully present with your senses.

Travel becomes richer when we slow down, breathe, and let each moment land, the colors, the aromas, the textures, the sounds.

Pausing long enough to notice the small miracles ✨
Birds in motion. Breath moving in and out.

Mindfulness isn’t about doing more—it’s about being here for the little things that quietly ground us.

In this experiential training, EMDR clinicians will learn how to bring visual journaling into the therapy room as a companion to EMDR treatment. We’ll explore both the emotional and psychological benefits of journaling through art, looking at theory, research, and case examples that highlight how it can support trauma recovery.

Throughout the day, participants will try out different approaches—collage, mandalas, free drawing, and poetry—while reflecting on how each method can be integrated into different phases of EMDR. We’ll connect these practices directly to the 8 Phases of EMDR Therapy and the 3-Prong Protocol (past, present, future) so you leave with ideas you can apply right away.

By the end of the workshop, you’ll walk away with your own plan for how to integrate visual journaling into your clinical practice. You’ll also leave with concrete strategies for setting up the space, selecting art supplies, and pacing interventions in ways that encourage stabilization, self-regulation, and safety for your clients.
