“Always laugh when you can, it is cheap medicine.” - Lord Byron If I had to pick a group of individuals to go thru Residency, it probably wouldn’t have been this group. This proves that the Lord places people in your life for a reason. We laughed, we cried, we screamed, we chilled, watched movies, drank margaritas and we played Pokémon. Now we’re inseparable! My growth as a person and physician wouldn’t of been the same without these individuals.

In my career thus far, I have been directly responsible for one patient developing an addiction to Narcotic medication and then addiction to illegal medication after his Narcotic were stopped.
Pain Management is a serious issue!
Pain is real, but not all pain needs to be treated with Narcotic medication.
Treating pain and chronic pain is a difficult thing for providers, distinguishing real pain and medication seekers has been one of the toughest things I have had to learn. Oh the troubles I have seen...
