This is so very sad, however, even in heartbreak, there is a chance for healing and growth. Apparently, the 3rd person who was taken to the hospital has also passed on to eternal life, reminding us to hold our loved ones close. Sending prayers and support to their families during this trying time. May their loved ones find peace and solace in the love that remains. πŸ™πŸ½

Friends, this is just a shout out to all our followers .... My of 52 plus years and one of our Air Jamaica family members, Sue Banks, had a fire at her house last Monday. Thank the Lord the fire itself remained in the kitchen, however, there is soot covering everything .... the ceilings, light fixtures, fans, walls, outside and inside cupboards, drawers and closets, all kitchen ware, food items, clothing, bed linen etc. It’s a miracle that the damage was not worse. Clean up is in progress. I am sure you can well imagine that it is tedious and difficult.😩
In today’s market, insurance is unattainable for many people and regrettably this was their situation. 😭 They are trying to clean everything themselves, and once that is done, they will have to figure out how to handle the repairs. If it's at all possible and you are able, please find it in your heart to help them. A little donation might go a long way to helping! πŸ™πŸ½

For those of you who knew Captain Jon Banks, who passed away recently in Florida on Thursday, 27th October, 2022, the following is a message from his wife, Sue Banks:

"Many of you may already know that we lost Jon on Thursday, October 27th, 2022. His struggle with Guillian Barre is over. He never gave up. He was always asking for help to get up and walk but this was a mountain that he could not surpass. Jon wanted to come home and we were able to get him home on October 11th. We were by his bedside during this time and helped to guide him to the white light at 11:25 am. The man who has been in my life for more than 46 years, who had three beautiful, wonderful children, who has mentored so many in the flying and the music world, is no longer with us. We as his family and I'm sure all of his friends are thankful for having him in our lives all of this time. We will forever cherish his memory and appreciate all that he taught us with his integrity, his loyalty, and his love for his family and others. We will miss him , but we will celebrate his life. He was blessed with 83 wonderful years on this Earth, and, he has left an incredible mark on all of us. We promised him that eventually we will join him wherever he goes, whenever the time is ready for us to be there
with him. The Man, the Myth, the Legend, Jon Alaistair Patrick Banks is no longer with us, he has transitioned to another level.

Jon did not want a funeral, so we will, sometime in the near future,
celebrate his life with a Memorial. Once we are able to figure out the best way to do this, we will send out an invitation with the information for you to join us. In the meantime we have set up a Memorial Wall and we invite you to share your memories and encounters with Jon for all of us to see. Please upload any photos you may have also.

The link to this Memorial page is: https://bluebutterfly.com/memorial/v2/jon-alaistair-patrick-banks

We thank you all for following his journey, for cheering him on when he needed it most and for supporting us in one way or another through all of this; we could not have done it without any one of you.

Keep well.
Blessings,
❀️ Sue"

Another member of our Air Jamaica family, Jon Banks, has passed on to the other side. RIP dear friend. You will surely be missed! πŸ’œ

Good afternoon family and friends, we lost Jon this morning at 11:25 a.m. His struggle with Guillian Barre is over. He never gave up. He was always asking for help to get up and walk but this was a mountain that he could not surpass. On Monday we spoke to his primary doctor and the decision was made at that time to call hospice for him as he was declining rapidly. On Tuesday morning, hospice came here at around 10:00 and immediately transitioned him to the critical care level which is the highest level of their care. The first nurse arrived within a couple hours at 12:00 noon on Tuesday and he has had someone from hospice by his side until this morning. We have also been by his bedside during this time and helped to guide him to the white light this morning at 11:25 am. The man who has been in my life for 46 years, who had three beautiful, wonderful children, who has mentored so many in the flying and the music world, is no longer with us. The Man, the Myth, the Legend, has transitioned to another level. We, as his family, and I'm sure all of his friends are thankful for having him in our lives all of this time. We will forever cherish his memory and appreciate all that he has taught us with his integrity, his loyalty, and his love for his family and others. We will miss him , but we will celebrate his life. He was blessed with 83 wonderful years on this Earth, which he has now left, but he has left an incredible mark on all of us. We promised him that eventually we will join him wherever he goes, whenever the time is ready for us to be there with him. He has a lot relatives and friends who have passed on who are waiting for him, and will welcome him into his new life. The Man, the Myth, the Legend, Jon Alaistair Patrick Banks is no longer with us. We thank you all for following his journey, for cheering him on, for supporting us in one way or another through all of this, we could not have done it without any one of you. We are so grateful for your support through this journey. ❀️ Sue

RIP Tony Gordon, You will certainly be missed.
Condolences to Kay Aiken Gordon and family.

RE Tony Gordon.
From Alric Brown, fmr JM Maintenance, 12th January 2022.

"TG started at NMIA as an aircraft mechanic in '67, and progressed steadily thru the ranks until he attained the position of Duty Engineer in Ja. In around '78 he and family migrated to Chicago to become the Technical Rep there. He worked there for several years till he transferred to the PHL/BWI market which was growing very fast.
While there he also worked the JFK/EWR/YYZ stations in relief.
In the 90's TG"s expertise was needed more at the main base KIN, and he and his loving wife Kay moved back to KIN Jamaica.
He did that for several years before being transferred again to JFK where he stayed until he ended his extensive career with JM.

After leaving JM he and Kay moved to South Florida where he lived, and operated a automotive service business until his passing.
TG was never severed from the JM family, as he was very active in our reunions and get-togethers.
Best known for his wisdom, his funny nature, his loving demeanor, his strength, and his genuine friendship and brotherhood.

He maintained all these traits to the very last. He will be missed. A husband, father, uncle, brother, son, all of which he excelled at.
RIP TG, we loved you in life, we love you in death.
Al Brown.
