03 February 2022

The Defense Commissary Agency asked for volunteer actors from the Fort Lee community for a commercial-style video spot to be aired during an upcoming episode of the “Military Makeover with Montel” television show. Our very own SGT Mixon was selected over her peers for this awesome opportunity and attended filming today! We are extremely proud: SGT Mixon is an excellent Triple Penny NCO and she will be a great representative for both the Fort Lee community and the U.S. Army. Also selected was SGT Tamasang of 54th QM CO.

20/27 January 2022

The 111th Quartermaster Company has been conducting rail and air load training at Fort Lee, VA. On the rail side, Soldiers managed to safely utilize permanent and temporary loading ramps to successfully load HMMWVs, LHSs, and LMTVs onto different types of rail cars. Soldiers learned how to determine the proper number of 3/8" or 1/2" chains to restrain vehicles and tied down unit equipment accordingly. Rail cars aren't much wider than our trucks, so Soldiers were diligent with hand and arm signals to carefully ground guide vehicles onto and across the rail cars. On the air side, Soldiers learned how to read an air load plan and general information about creating an air load plan. Soldiers weighed and marked center of balance on unit vehicles and then ground guided them into a C-17 airframe IAW a supplied air load plan. Soldiers calculated the proper number of MB-1 and MB-2 tie-down devices to apply to each vehicle and secured them in the aircraft accordingly. 111th QM CO remains ready to rapidly deploy in support of our assigned missions.

The Mighty Triple One were 9 members of this archaeological crew!

An archaeological dig in Sicily has uncovered traces of a lost World War II American heavy bomber shot down in 1943, and possible human remains that could lead to identification of five airmen whose bodies were never recovered.

A BIG Triple One congratulations to SSG Lucas for graduating as both Distinguished Honor Graduate and Distinguished Leader from 92M Senior Leaders Course 22-001 on 10 December 2021! Also a big congrats to SPCs Huckaby and Cordova respectively for graduating as Distinguished Honor Graduate and Commadants List from Basic Leaders Course Class 002 graduating on the same date. The Mighty Triple One prides itself on the rigorous and thorough development of the Soldiers and NCOs within its ranks. Our company’s success depends on the work ethic and character of these very leaders. We take pride in growing our Soldiers and non-commissioned Officers to be self sufficient leaders within the Company and Army as whole.
