Weekend reflection: Are you making decisions based on what you value, or what you think you should value?

There's a difference between building a life that looks good and building a life that feels right.

Your values are your foundation. When your choices align with what actually matters to you, life doesn't feel hollow, even when it's hard.

Take some time this weekend to ask yourself: What do I actually value? And am I living in alignment with that?

Here's a quick way to identify what you value:

Think about a decision you're facing right now, a job offer, a relationship question, where to live, or how to spend your time.

Instead of asking "What should I do?" ask "What do I value most in this situation?"
Freedom or security? Growth or stability? Connection or independence? Impact or balance?

There's no right answer. But knowing what you're optimizing for makes the decision clearer.

Sometimes your body moves into fight, flight, freeze, or fawn before your mind has time to catch up. And while those responses are designed to keep you safe, many of us were never taught how to understand them, regulate them, or respond with intention.

That is exactly why we created Connect With Your Inner Protector 🛡️

This 2 hour women only workshop combines nervous system education with hands on self defense using gentle exposure. You will learn how to recognize your triggers, understand your body’s stress responses, and build confidence in how you respond emotionally and physically when it matters most.

Jax will guide the hands on self defense portion, focusing on body awareness, boundaries, and practical defensive skills in a supportive environment.

Lindsay will guide participants through identifying triggers and understanding fight, flight, freeze, and fawn while teaching regulation tools to help you respond with clarity and intention.

This is not a therapy session. This is an educational and skill based experience designed to help you feel informed, empowered, and connected to your inner sense of safety.

Come as you are. Move at your own pace. Learn skills that support you beyond the workshop.

Most of us make decisions based on what we think we should want, what looks impressive, or what feels safe, without ever stopping to ask what actually matters to us.
And then we wonder why we feel disconnected from our own lives. Why everything looks right on paper but feels wrong. Why we’re successful in ways that don’t actually fulfill us.

It’s because we’re building on borrowed values instead of our own.
