Every Deaf and Hard of Hearing student learns differently and some need additional support that extends beyond hearing access alone.

Research shows that when Deaf and Hard of Hearing students regularly connect with successful Deaf adults, they experience:

• Higher academic motivation

• Stronger self-identity and confidence

• Broader career aspirations

Yet, many programs still limit Deaf role model exposure to an occasional guest speaker or single event.

We’re honored to share that 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗻𝗻 𝗖𝗵𝗿𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗺𝗮𝗻 recently joined Rachel Randell, Educational Audiologist, as a guest lecturer at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill!

Together, they led an engaging discussion on how collaboration among Teachers of the Deaf, Speech-Language Pathologists, and Educational Audiologists enhances language access and student outcomes for Deaf and Hard of Hearing learners.
