✔️ Testing the excursions
✔️ Making sure the vibes are right
✔️ Confirming the sun is sunning
✔️ Double checking the photo ops
✔️ Ensuring the memories are memory-ing

All so when I send you on vacation, you’re not guessing… you’re EXPERIENCING.

Did you know… those silver metal plates on the ropes aren’t just random hardware?

They’re called rat guards 🐀🚫

When ships dock, the mooring lines basically become a highway from land straight onto the vessel. Rats can climb those thick ropes with zero problem — and once they get onboard, they can contaminate food supplies, damage wiring, and spread disease.

So ports install these metal discs on the mooring lines to stop them.

Here’s how it works:
• Rats try to climb along the rope
• They reach the guard
• The wide, smooth metal surface gives them nothing to grip
• They can’t climb around it or hang underneath it
• They give up and head back to shore

It’s a simple but critical piece of maritime sanitation that helps keep ships pest-free while docked in places like Roatán.

So yeah… next time you see those shiny “stop signs” on a rope, just know they’re there to keep some very unwanted stowaways from joining the cruise 😅🛳️
