Knee pain and stiffness during rainy season can be caused by a number of factors, including:
Barometric pressure
When it rains, barometric pressure decreases, which can cause muscles, tendons, and other tissues around joints to expand. This expansion can crowd the joints and put extra pressure on them, which can lead to pain. People with arthritis or chronic joint pain may be more sensitive to this type of discomfort.
Humidity
High humidity levels can cause joints to swell and become more sensitive. For people with existing knee conditions like arthritis, the humidity can make the pain worse.
Temperature changes
Sudden temperature changes, which are common during rainy season, can affect joint lubrication. Cold, damp conditions can also tighten the muscles around joints, which can cause more pain.
Synovial fluid
When it’s cold and rainy, the fluid in the knee, called synovial fluid, can thicken, which can cause more friction and stiffness.

INTERVENTION: The 3 x 10 ADDICT

There may be more use of numbers in PT than in any other heath profession. growth into outcome based measures

and the numerical creativity needed to medically justify improvement is slightly harder than with ( a vaccine?)

We are required us to quantify everything from a joint stiffness, ROM, to a patients pain level. This is
pratices a profession where count reps, sets, and quantify rest time, speed, leg lenth, measure joint ROM angles , whatever those numbers were from biomechanics and research statistics , and the need to charge in units based on intervals of minutes that we keep track of,.....

Hard to believe that Three-Times-Ten are the three most overused in any clinic you walk in across the country.

THER EX PRESCRIPTION is i,n my firm opinion, the most suspect part of the average PTs knowledge base. Having worked in:
hospitals,
outpatient clinics,
inpatient rehab hospitals
home health
clinical education
as a DPT Lab Instructor

Ive either observed or been consulted for by looking for the answer to a ther ex Rx that will finally address some stubborn issue a patient of theirs is having during recovery. this problem is bad and is not even at 'eh' levels at most outpatient ortho/sports rehab clinics.I learned that i needed to mention my recommended dosing(rep/sets/weekly frequency) for their exercise answer before i showed the exercise. THE RIGHT EXERCISE DONE AT WITH IMPROPER DOSING IS MAYBE ANALOGOUS TO TAKING HALF OF A ANTIBIOTICS PRESCRIPTION. The best outcome to hope for youre not worse than before u started the treatment.

Giving every patient, for every exercise, with every movement, and every muscle the same 3x10 dose is the PT parallel to giving every diabetic the same medication, strength, and mode of administration and ignoring whether its Type 1 or Type 2 DM (More on type 1s and 2s later)
