Established in 1994, Golisano Children’s Hospital of Southwest Florida has been named a “Top Hospital” by The Leapfrog Group for the past four years. It is the only recognized children’s hospital in Southwest Florida and provides specialized care for kids between Tampa and Miami. Lee Health opened the new 134-bed Golisano Children’s Hospital in May 2017, relocating the children’s hospital from the adjacent HealthPark Medical Center. It includes comprehensive pediatric services including a 24-hour pediatric emergency department, hematology-oncology unit, milk lab, Regional Perinatal Intensive Care Center, and Level II and Level III NICU with 70 private rooms. Golisano Children’s Hospital is proud to have been named Soliant’s 2018 Most Beautiful Hospital in the U.S., a recognition determined by popular vote. The hospital provides vital health care for children from infancy through age 18. Services Include:

Alyssa, a longtime patient at Golisano Children’s Hospital and the Children’s Rehabilitation Center, has been working hard in therapy to strengthen her mobility and independence.

Last week, she went trick-or-treating for the very first time! Born with cerebral palsy and a seizure disorder, Alyssa has increased her ability to engage in activities of her age that she would not be able to participate in otherwise. Using a speech button on her wheelchair headrest, Alyssa said “trick or treat” and “Happy Halloween” with a nod of her head. She even used electrical stimulation to help her grab candy and fill her very own treat bag. 🍬

Ring that bell, Mateo! 🔔

At just six years old, this brave dinosaur fan and Lego master completed treatment for rhabdomyosarcoma, a rare soft tissue cancer.

Ringing the bell with his mom and throwing confetti with his big brother, Mateo’s smile lit up the room as he celebrated this incredible milestone. 💙

There were no tricks, just treats here at Golisano Children’s Hospital on Halloween. 🎃

Our teams went room to room for their annual Reverse Trick-or-Treating event, bringing candy, stuffed animals, goodie bags, blankets, and scary good tunes to patients.

After two and a half years of treatment for Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL,) 4-year-old Hayden finally rang the bell! 🔔

Surrounded by cheers from her family and the Golisano support team, Hayden celebrated a brand new beginning. She’s a huge fan of Ghost Spider and K-Pop Demon Hunters, and just like the song says, she’s “gonna be golden!” 💛
