Being in the present moment is where our life is happening now. As we bring ourselves back to the present moment, we can feel gratitude and peace.

"Nature grows through breaking down. Through cracking open. Through opening up. Spilling out. And then blossoming. Growth can feel like a destructive process. That's because it is. You have to crack open your old self for new aspects to bloom."

Perhaps your imagination has been captured like ours has been watching the monks walking for peace. Amid all the chaos, turmoil, and noise, they are just walking.

We invite you to take a mindful walk for peace with us at the 2026 Annual Meeting and Retreat at the Six Mile Cypress Slough Preserve on February 21, 2026 from 10am to 2PM.

This event is Free to members of Caloosahatchee Mindfulness. All others are welcome to attend with a love donation of whatever works for you. The day will start with a welcome and brief 15-minute business meeting. We will then walk as a group through the beautiful slough on the board walk. After the walk, we will have a break, we will then gather in the community room for a guided compassion meditation. There will be a deep sharing meditation and then close our time with the Universal Peace Prayer. The Slough has limited parking, so carpooling is recommended.

Thich Nhat Hahn taught, "Many of us walk for the sole purpose of getting from one place to another. Now suppose we are walking to a sacred place. We would walk quietly and take each gentle step with reverence. I propose that we walk this way every time we walk on the earth. The earth is sacred and we touch her with each step. We should be very respectful, because we are walking on our mother. If we walk like that, then every step will be grounding, every step will be nourishing."

Our Story

Our purpose is to promote supportive and life-affirming mindfulness-based programs that teach powerful methods for reducing stress and that contribute to health and well-being.

Hearts’ Path to Mindful Living is transforming and initiating a new and exciting partnership with Caloosahatchee Rising Tide Sangha, (the Tuesday night meditation group) to build a mindful community in Southwest Florida. The new name is “Caloosahatchee Mindfulness,” a center for mindfulness bringing together like-minded people with many teachers and teachings in one special space. Having a center where a community can be created and sustained has long been the dream of those who provided classes and other educational and meditative opportunities throughout Southwest Florida in the past. Negotiations are underway for a convenient location in south Fort Myers, and we look forward to a formal dedication and opening in early December.

Hearts’ Path to Mindful Living, Inc. originating in 2006 with the direction of four visionary founders, is a non-profit corporation that supports programs of Mindfulness in the community. The organization has continued to grow and expand into the community, and in 2010 Hearts' Path was granted a 501(c)(3) Public Charity status by the IRS.
