The Placenta is a temporary organ that belongs to the baby and aids in oxygen and nutrient transfer from mom to baby. It is the baby’s life source while in utero. After your baby is born it will continue to pump oxygenated blood to your baby until it releases from your uterus around 15 minutes after birth.
