The last thing you want to hear during yoga:
“The state is at our office.”

That’s exactly what happened this past Tuesday right in the middle of our administrator’s yoga class when AHCA arrived for Abby Services’ annual survey.

Hot, sweaty, and still in yoga gear, our Administrator RN Scott Strachan showed up and got straight to work. And once again, Abby Services demonstrated why we’ve earned our stellar reputation.

With more than a decade of deficiency free surveys, this visit was no different.

Here’s to another deficiency-free survey and to doing things the right way, even when the timing couldn’t be worse. 💪🧘‍♂️

It often starts with asking a few thoughtful questions so families and independent caregivers can decide whether they’re a good fit.

Here are some helpful questions families may want to discuss when connecting with a caregiver:

• What experience do you have with needs similar to ours?
Caregivers bring different backgrounds and areas of experience, such as mobility support, memory changes, personal care, or companionship.

• What days and hours are you available to offer services?
Availability and consistency are important to help families establish routines that work for everyone.

• How do you typically respond to unexpected situations or emergencies?
Understanding how a caregiver approaches these situations can help families feel more prepared.

• Are you comfortable following our care preferences and household routines?
Each home and family has unique expectations and priorities.

• Can you share references from past clients or families you’ve worked with?
