Posture is how commonly known as how one holds their body up. True Posture is how one’s body holds itself up. True Posture is what is really important.

Do this test: “Breathe in, breathe out, relax and let your body slump.”

If your body slumps forward, shoulders roll forward, has noticeable tension, hurts, tight breathing, etc., then it’s time to consider a correction. You should be able to stand upright with minimal effort, feel stable, and breathe deeply/easily.

This is a picture of one of my patients getting rid of all her “supportive” sandals.

It may seem counter intuitive but footwear should be flat. Any kind of arch support/orthotic worsens your body’s overall mechanics. Foot pain (i.e. plantar fasciitis, heel pain, bunions, etc.) are body problems that manifest in the feet. When you fix the body the foot pain goes away.
