At the Lee Health Cancer Institute, in partnership with Southwest Florida Proton and Advocate Radiation Oncology, the proton therapy machine is transforming how we treat cancer. 💙

Unlike traditional radiation, proton therapy uses a highly controlled beam that can be directed to stop at the tumor site. This precision allows physicians to deliver powerful treatment directly to cancer cells while helping protect nearby healthy tissue.

For patients, that can mean fewer side effects, less impact on surrounding organs, and the ability to maintain a better quality of life during and after treatment. ✨

In honor of National Nutrition Month, it’s a great time to explore foods that support overall health. 🥦🍓

The American Institute for Cancer Research - AICR highlights a wide variety of foods with potential cancer-fighting benefits — including berries, tomatoes, carrots, cruciferous vegetables like broccoli, and fiber-rich whole grains and beans.

While no single food can prevent cancer, building a balanced diet with a variety of plant-based foods can help support long-term health.
