Fun facts! Know the modes of transmission of HIV. We offer Free HIV testing ♥️

You can only get HIV by coming into direct contact with certain body fluids from a person with who has a detectable viral load. These fluids are:

🔵Blood
🔵Semen (cum) and pre-seminal fluid
🔵Rectal fluids
🔵Vaginal fluids
🔵Breast milk

Direct contact means that the fluid must get into your bloodstream through a mucus membrane.

HIV is not transmitted by air, water, mosquitos, spit, hugging, or sharing silverware or dishes. HIV can’t be passed through healthy, unbroken skin.

You can help by educating yourself and others about HIV using scientifically correct and non-stigmatizing language. Visit HIV.gov for reliable, up-to-date information.

Do you know there are different ways you can prevent HIV?

✅ Treatment as Prevention ( ) refers to taking HIV medicine to prevent the s*xual transmission of HIV. People with HIV who take HIV medicine as prescribed and get and keep an undetectable viral load will not transmit HIV to their HIV-negative partners through s*x, often called 'undetectable=untransmittable' or .
✅ PrEP is medicine people at risk for HIV take to prevent getting HIV from s*x or injection drug use. PrEP can stop HIV from taking hold and spreading throughout your body.
✅ PEP is a short course of HIV medicines taken very soon after a possible exposure to HIV to prevent the virus from taking hold in your body. You must start it within 72 hours (3 days) after a possible exposure to HIV, or it won’t work.
✅ Condoms are highly effective at preventing HIV and other s*xually transmitted infections like gonorrhea and chlamydia.
