Stress is such a constant presence in our day to day lives. Then nature happens and some of us enjoy it while others (🙋🏽♀️) can feel like these events compound stress. Below is a list of things we can do to help!
Breathing: take a slow, intentional breath and fill your diaphragm. Then slowly exhale 🧘.
Stretch: listen to your body and move gently. Use a door frame for upper body and your bed for lower back 🙆♂️.
Water: hey we’re home so all the extra potty breaks aren’t as big a deal. Make it fun and add some cucumber, mint, and/or lime 🍋🍵
Picture: capture the beautiful scenery or get a close up of the ❄️ . Focusing on novel things can help keep us present and appreciative, two factors that combat stress.
Journaling: write out thoughts, frustrations, or plans. Get inspired and draw or color! ✍️
Self-massage: tennis ball in a pillowcase and golf ball on your feet while sitting. Both feel great when you find “the spot” 😌
We so often don’t have the time to do the things we say we want to do. Take advantage of the forced downtime and feel better! Don’t feel guilty for watching 📺 but use some time during this snow/ice fiasco to do some things that are relaxing and good for us ❤️
Calma Massage Therapy will remain closed through tomorrow 1/27/2026 with plans of accepting appointments on Wednesday. Stay safe!
