Research continues to show that parent use - or non-use - is strongly related to children's media habits and well-being.

A recent study of parents and adolescents ages 13 to 18 found that teens showed fewer signs of problematic use and were able to self-regulate emotions when parents themselves used social media less. Additionally, parent disengagement in social media was associated with improved communication between parents and teens, which was also linked to a decreased risk for problematic social media use.
