The lymphatic system. We all have one, but do you know what it is?

Our lymphatic system is a system made up of a collection of vessels just below the surface of your skin. It acts as a channel to expel excess fluid (called lymph), get rid of toxins and it also plays an important part of your immune system!

Lymph or lymphatic fluid is a nearly colorless watery fluid found between cells and tissues. Lymph is collected by lymph vessels, gets filtered through the lymph nodes and returns back to the blood.

Lymph does not have a pump to help move the fluid along it’s path, therefore it relies on gentle tissue movement, contraction/relaxation of muscles, compression, and specialized techniques.

Lymphatic massage helps aids in surgery recovery, reduce swelling, and may relieve constipation.
