Our inaugural 1,978 Minutes of Giving launches in 13 days! 🎉🥳

Today, we are highlighting one of the causes you can support during our inaugural giving campaign!

At the Kistler Center, we believe that every child who needs treatment should be able to receive it regardless of their family's financial circumstances. Our Charitable Care Program allows children who are uninsured or underinsured to still be able to receive the care they need to thrive by tailoring their expenses to their family's needs. This can look like covering or adjusting costs to the family after the child's insurance will no longer pay for therapy sessions, providing an adjusted payment rate that is based on their income, or in some cases, covering the care outright.

The Charitable Care Program is funded by grants and donations from people like YOU! 🙂 By partnering with us through donations, you are providing us the opportunity to continue to provide excellent, accessible care to those who need it most.

As promised, here are more photos from our Inclusive Fall Festival at Central Christian Church last week! 🎃

We loved getting to see so many of our kids in the therapy programs, persons served, and families/DSPs. It was a great night full of candy, costumes, and games. 🥳

Our next big event is our 🎄Christmas Party🎄, also provided and hosted by Central Christian Church. The Christmas Party is on Thursday, December 11th from 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm. You must RSVP for the Christmas Party by December 5th and you can do that at https://forms.office.com/r/bizaLij8ya

We are thrilled to announce that the Kistler Center was selected as a recipient of a $2,000.00 grant from the the Walter O. Caldwell Foundation! 🎉

Walter O. Caldwell Jr. is a former resident of Fort Smith and created the Walter O. Caldwell Foundation in memory of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Walter O. Caldwell, Sr. The Foundation's purpose is to improve the quality of life in the immediate Fort Smith area by providing food, clothing, shelter, and educational opportunities.

Thank you to the Walter O. Caldwell Foundation for helping us continue our mission of providing excellent and accessible care for those in need within our community! Partnerships and support like this grant are vital to the Kistler Center's success. 🩵

Over the last two days we have held 4 training sessions for our DSPs to review the state required annual training and to teach a new software, Setworks. We trained 179 DSPs in those 4 sessions which is 87% of our total DSPs - that’s an incredible success! Thank you to everyone who attended one of the sessions. We enjoyed meeting everyone and getting to know you! 🙂

We also want to give a special shout out! A big part of what made these training sessions so successful is our partnership with the Center for Non-Profits through the University of Arkansas - Fort Smith Center for Economic Development and The Bakery District. Because we were able to use their facility and technology, we were able to offer larger sessions for training. Thank you for allowing us to use your space! 🎉

🥁 Drumroll…

The winners of our Pumpkin Decorating Contest are Tesla, one of our patients, and Kayla Thompson, our CES Waiver Scheduling Specialist!

Tesla decorated a pumpkin featuring multiple holidays with her family and Kayla chose to create a pumpkin that mimicked the character Anxiety from Inside Out 2!

Tesla will receive a Kistler Center sling backpack as her prize! ✨

We're hiring for a full-time Therapy Scheduling Specialist. The Therapy Scheduling Specialist will schedule therapy appointments for PT, OT, and Speech, facilitate the intake of new patients, obtain new authorizations and reauthorizations, and check Medicaid eligibility for our clients. You will be communicating regularly with a team in a fast-paced, client-focused atmosphere.

You might a good fit if you have the following qualities:

✅ Effective Communicator
✅ Strong Organizational Skills
✅ Self - Starter
✅ Outgoing
✅ Detail Oriented
✅ Multi-tasking extraordinaire
✅ Proficient in Microsoft Office
✅ High school diploma/GED required (Bachelor's degree preferred)
