New 2025 Guidelines have arrived!

Every 5 years the AHA releases updated guidelines for CPR and Emergency Cardiovascular Care. These guidelines are backed by ongoing scientific research. Keep yourself updated by visiting the American Heart Association's website.

Once all new materials are available and our instructors have been in-serviced on the new guidelines, we will implement them in our classroom. If you have taken a class within the last 2 years, be prepared for some changes when its time to renew.

It's mani maintenance day at the office!

We frequently block out a day on our schedule to perform more extensive maintenance on all of our equipment. It's a little tedious but it helps ensure everything stays in good working order so we can provide clean, functional equipment to our clients.

Some of the steps involved are:

- scrubbing with soap and water to remove dirt and oil

- sanitizing to get rid of bacteria and any other unwanted microorganisms

- checking and replacing the lungs - make sure that chest rises!

- checking the feedback lights and replacing batteries as needed

- checking battery packs for any leakage or corrosion

Heart disease is the leading cause of death in the US. By taking the necessary steps and precautions to reduce your chances of developing heart disease, you also lower your chances of experiencing cardiac arrest related to complications from heart disease.

Studies have shown that owning a pet can have a positive impact on your overall health and well-being. It's just one of many ways you can lower your risk of developing heart disease.

Cardiac arrest can happen anywhere at any time. Even in the middle of a set at a comedy club. The way the members of this audience came together to successfully resuscitate this man before EMS arrived on scene is beautiful to watch. Starting CPR within the first few moments of cardiac arrest is crucial to chances of survival. Not only did they give him his life back, but they helped ensure he got his quality of life back. A delay in CPR can cause brain and organ damage due to the lack of oxygen. Early CPR helps circulate the remaining oxygen in the bloodstream and reduces cell damage. This is why we are passionate about what we do here at the CPR Center and why we believe everyone should learn CPR. You don't have to be a healthcare provider to save a life. Learn CPR!
