Adult Day Health Center

I had an opportunity to meet with Patricia Clark, Executive Director and Devin Palmer, Marketing Specialist with WellQuest this week. The River Valley now has an Adult Day Health Center ready to open. This will provide a safe place for functionally impaired adults requiring assistance to safely remain independent in the community. This will be a scheduled basis with an individualized and coordinated services. There will be daily exercise, social activities, arts, crafts, memory games & music therapy. To qualify you must be 55 year of age or older, live in their service area, & can live safely in the community. Monday through Friday 8a-5pm.

October Senior Care Alliance General Meeting was full of valuable information for the individual and caregiver. Thank you to Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital for hosting the meeting and providing a wonderful lunch. Stevi McCain, Encompass, provided information about fall prevention. She reminded all of us to prepare for a fall by going into a room and looking around for what could cause a fall and to make the necessary changes now. Thank you Stevi for reminding us about ways to prevent falls.
