We just want to start out by saying Thank You to our staff here . We are so blessed with such a great staff 24/7 and it shows daily on the smiles of our sweet kiddos faces!
We truley have the best clients! The absolute best! The Standard of care at Brownwood is remarkable, and our clients are family. The care our staff give is like no other. Our clients are so sweet and so loved and deserve the best. 🥰
Back story.
As we are rounding to the almost 40 YEARS of business mark… here is a little background of the beginning!
In 1986, David Broaddrick was aware of the need for a residential center which could provide both educational and medical services to the multi-handicapped. In response to the need, he purchased the Old Sparks Manor Nursing Home and established Brownwood Life Care Center, Inc. located at 2121 Towson Ave FS. This was the beginning of creating not only a facility but a long time home for many!
Fast forward to 2016, Brownwood moved from this location to its current location at 7500 Wells Lake Road in Chaffee Crossing.
Brownwood has always been about a Family atmosphere and has a specialJohn David Broaddrick John David Broaddrick has alwyas said he wanted Brownwood to not only be a home for our clients but a safe place of refuge for our staff.
It is Brownwood's responsibility to provide the best medical care to our clients. We also provide Special Education to all that are school age at the facility -Brownwood School, Inc.
Brownwood Life Care Center is a fifty bed Intermediate Care Facility for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities (ICF/IID; formerly referred to as an ICF/MR) which serves intellectually, developmentally, and physically disabled individuals who require significant intervention in medical, communicative, educational, and behavioral spheres. We offer OT, PT, and Speech, along with dietitian specialties.
As BLCC is licensed by Arkansas Department of Human Services (Office of Long-Term Care) and by the Arkansas Department of Education. Both of these agencies monitor and survey BLCC on a regular basis.
It is Brownwood's goal that each client receives education and training to encourage them to reach their fullest potential
It is licensed for 50 beds, specializing in providing care to children and young adults with Profound Intellectual Disability with associated medical and/or orthopedic difficulties.
