Employee Spotlight!!
Meet Emily Britton

My name is Emily Britton and I grew up in Devils Lake. Growing up my mom was a dispatcher and my dad had worked on the fire department. Both parents would have unique stories about their jobs and how they were able to make an impact on someone's life. Which made me want to join EMS! My senior year of high school, I took an EMT class that was offered in the community. I graduated High School in May of 2023 and started as a driver for Spirit Lake Ambulance, In October of 2023., In January of 2024 I started working on the truck as on EMT. I since have started picking up shifts at Dunseith ambulance service as well! Ems has taught me a lot of things and I have met many amazing people through this job! If your thinking about joining EMS I highly recommend.
If i'm not at work you can find me at home with my golden doodle, Rusty!

Spirit Lake EMS Employee Spotlight!

Meet Brielle Wakefield

I have been in EMS since 2018. I took my EMT class while I was in high school and fell in love with the field of emergency medicine. In 2022 I became licensed as a paramedic and currently work for Spirit Lake Ambulance and Harvey ambulance. Last December, I was able to obtain my Instructor license and will be teaching an EMT class coming January. I enjoy the challenges of EMS and the privilege of attending people when they are in need of care. This job has taught me how to be a leader and has helped me to grow in empathy. When I am not on the ambulance you might catch me on a mission trip or solving a mystery with my parents on game night.
P.S. - I highly recommend you get involved with your local ambulance or fire department. You will meet some compassionate, resilient people and come away with invaluable experience.
