Run2End ALZ is still going strong as it held it's 16th annual 5K/10K on Saturday. LifeSpring Community has been a proud sponsor of this race for the past several years, and this year was no exception!
Tara and Haley represented LifeSpring at our sponsor table, once again. It's always fun to meet new people and to reconnect with familiar faces! It truly takes a community coming together to make a difference as we work towards a common goal to be difference makers in the world of dementia!

We are so grateful for the compassion, dedication, and countless contributions you have given to our facility, residents and families. Your hard work has touched so many lives, and your presence will truly be missed. Renee has worked many different roles during her 36 year tenure and has made an impact on so many people in the community.

When our residents found out that the groundhog was predicting 6 more weeks of cold weather there was a mix of emotions. We learned some interesting facts about groundhogs today.
1) Did you know that groundhogs are sometimes called "whistle pigs", because they have a habit of whistling at potential mates?
2) Did you know that when a groundhog builds its home, it actually builds a bathroom? The bathroom is a designated place away from the space where the family sleeps or stores its food.

Grace Garden residents learned about Australia this morning, and finished off the afternoon making Australian Fairy Bread. Did you know that the term Fairy Bread originated from a poem in an 1885 children's book. The poem, written for children, reflects the purity and imagination of childhood.
Fairy Bread was served to children living in the sanatorium for young tuberculosis patients to bring them joy and comfort. Its popularity also grew rapidly during the years following World War 1. The ingredients were affordable and accessible to everyone, even families with limited means.
Fairy Bread Recipe:
Spread softened butter generously over a slice of bread. Dip buttered side of bread into a bowl of round sprinkles (Hundreds and Thousands). Slice the bread into triangles. Serve immediately.

December 2025...it has been the most wonderful time of the year in Grace Garden! Perdue Primary, Remie Heide, Christ Sanctified Holy Church, and Northside High School Chorus all made the Christmas Holidays extra special by sharing their time and talent with us! Thank you Robin (Heartland Hospice) for always being willing to party with us. All of our residents and staff enjoyed all the extra family time as well as all the gifts that arrived just in time for our Christmas party.
