The Grand Reopening of the Indian Temple Mound Museum in downtown Fort Walton Beach is coming up soon...

Join us at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 28, 2026, for a brief ceremony and to explore the newly renovated museum. We have exhibits that document thousands of years of settlement in the area, from prehistoric Native American cultures up to the early pioneer settlers.

Admission is FREE for the day. So, come help us celebrate this milestone expansion of the Indian Temple Mound Museum, which has been serving the community since 1962.

The City of Fort Walton Beach Heritage Park and Cultural Center is part of the City of Fort Walton Beach’s Recreation and Cultural Services Department.

The Fort Walton Beach Community Redevelopment Agency is accepting designs and bid proposals for its Patriotic Fire Hydrant Painting Project, which aims to enhance city streets by repainting the hydrants in designs that reflect the community’s patriotic spirit.

Although Guardians works for animals all the time, National Justice for Animals Week shines a bright spotlight on cruelty, neglect, and abuse β€” and reminds everyone that animals deserve safety, care, and real consequences for those who harm them.

At Guardians of Rescue, this means stepping in when no one else will, pulling animals out of bad situations, assisting with cruelty cases, getting survivors of neglect and abuse the medical care they need and making sure they get a real second chance.

Rescue requires compassion, but it also requires action. If you believe animals deserve kindness and respect, and put that into daily action, you’re already part of this fight.

One of Florida’s sweetest spring festivals, the Clay County Strawberry Festival, kicks off in less than two weeks! Held March 7–8, 2026 at the Clay County Fairgrounds in Green Cove Springs, this 10th annual event brings two full days of family fun. You can shop art and craft booths, enjoy live music, and bite into fresh Plant City strawberries. Strawberry shortcake, strawberry fudge, strawberry lemonade, and even strawberry wine slush mixes are crowd favorites. Kids can enjoy free bounce houses, a free petting farm, rock painting, sack races, and a hula hoop contest. There are pony rides, train rides, axe throwing, monster truck rides, and a free Cirque show. Don’t miss the pie eating contest or the Berry Cute Baby Contest. Admission is $7 cash, kids 2 and under free, and the event supports The Food Pantry of Green Cove Springs.
