Often times, we are masking without even realizing.

Masking often starts as survival, a way to stay safe or fit in. But over time, it can feel exhausting and isolating.

You’re not broken. You may have just learned to perform before you felt safe being yourself.

Through therapy, we can work to safely unmask, learn to set boundaries for social engagements, and start feeling like "you" again.

Ready to explore unmasking safely? Book your consultation at livingfreetherapyservices.com

Talking to kids about ICE can be tough, but here are some tips for ages 3-18! Remind them they're not alone and there are things you can do together as a family to help, like deliver meals, making a shopping list, picking out groceries, and coloring pictures. These small actions can make a big difference when we feel helpless. Caring is showing compassion.

So excited to share this new group with all of you. In collaboration with Eleanor Phoenix, MA - Inclusive Counseling , we will be offering this group targeted to those who are millennials (or relate to that phase of life) and diagnosed or identified with ADHD later in life (adolescence or later).

Late ADHD diagnosis is a whole different thing.

It’s like you get the relief of finally understanding what was going on for all of those hard years. But, you also get the grief of the labels you have to unlearn for yourself and the things you feel like you could’ve done differently.

Now you’re in your 30s and trying to figure out, wait, who am I? How do I handle this? And how do I make community now?

If this resonates with you, this may be a great group for you!

Facilitated by myself and Melissa Nelson, LMHC, (Living Free Therapy Services LLC) you’ll learn about navigating ADHD with late diagnosis while building understanding and community through others sharing in the group.

We’d love to have you! (Open to people currently residing in FL only). Hold the QR code to fill out the interest form.

🧠 Your brain has built-in tools to help you feel better — and they don’t all come from a pill or a pricey solution.

Here's how to support your mental health by boosting your natural “feel-good” chemicals: 💚 Oxytocin – Connection 💙 Dopamine – Motivation 🧡 Serotonin – Stability 💜 Endorphins – Relief

None of this is a fix-all — especially when you're carrying trauma or deep exhaustion. But small steps can help nudge your system gently toward balance. Even just one of these today counts. Be kind to your nervous system. 💛

🧠 Your brain isn’t broken — it’s trying to protect you.

When we talk about “feel-good chemicals” like oxytocin, dopamine, serotonin, and endorphins, we’re really talking about how the nervous system finds moments of safety, connection, and relief.

But here’s the truth: 👉🏽 If you’ve lived through trauma or chronic stress, accessing these states can feel impossible.
👉🏽 What looks like “laziness” or “low motivation” might just be a nervous system stuck in survival mode.
👉🏽 And no — this list isn’t a prescription. It’s a menu of options, not obligations.

💡Even one of these actions — a few minutes of sunlight, a kind word, a deep breath — can gently remind your body: you’re safe enough to feel better.

You don’t have to do it all.
You just have to start where you are.

Today, we honor and celebrate the emancipation of enslaved individuals in the United States.

Juneteenth or Freedom Day, was first observed in Texas on June 19, 1865. It marks the date federal troops arrived in Galveston, Texas, to enforce the Emancipation Proclamation, which had been issued two and a half years earlier.

Juneteenth is not just about celebration—it’s a call to action. Be in community. Learn about those actively working to remove systemic barriers to Black opportunity. Happy Juneteenth! ❤️
