Substance use challenges rarely exist in isolation.

They are often connected to stress, trauma, overwhelming emotions, or patterns that feel difficult to break.

Our therapist Maddie has experience working with adults in residential treatment settings, including active-duty military members, veterans, first responders, and individuals facing substance use, trauma, and mental health challenges.

She approaches this work from a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy perspective, helping clients understand the “why” behind their struggles while building practical tools for lasting, meaningful change.

If you or someone you love is struggling with substance use or the stress connected to it, support is available.

We invest in our careers.
We invest in our homes.
We invest in our physical health.

Investing in your mental and emotional well-being matters just as much.

Therapy provides a space to develop practical tools, understand the patterns shaping your life, strengthen relationships and boundaries, and move toward a life that feels steady and intentional.

The work you do in therapy extends far beyond the session. It influences how you show up at work, at home, in relationships, and in the quiet moments when your thoughts feel heavy.

Choosing therapy is choosing growth, clarity, and long-term change.

If you have been thinking about starting, this may be the right time to take that first step.

Its worth it!

Workplace burnout can look like constant exhaustion, irritability, brain fog, or feeling disconnected from work you once cared about. It can feel like you are always behind, always “on,” and never fully able to rest.

Burnout is not a personal failure. It is often a sign that stress has been building for too long without the support or tools to manage it.

That's where Faith comes in!

Faith works with adults navigating anxiety and workplace stress, helping clients rebuild confidence, clarify boundaries, and develop practical tools to manage pressure in healthier ways. Her goal is to help you feel empowered, grounded, and more in control both professionally and personally.

If work feels overwhelming or unsustainable, you do not have to keep pushing through alone.

This month, we’re introducing Maddie and the clients she most often supports in therapy.

Maddie works with adults navigating anxiety, trauma, substance use, life transitions, and those feeling stuck or overwhelmed. She has experience supporting veterans, first responders, and individuals impacted by high-stress environments.

“I’m drawn to supporting you in the tender in-between of returning to the “real world” with new insight, while life is still catching up to the changes you’re making. With no rush and no pressure to have it all figured out, I focus on helping you build changes that feel supportive, sustainable, and truly yours!”

We’ll be sharing more about Maddie and her approach throughout the month.

The weekend can be a chance to slow your pace, let your body exhale, and create space to reset without pressure or expectations.

Giving yourself time to pause is part of taking care of your mental health.

As you move into the weekend, take a moment to reflect on what would help you feel more grounded, what feels draining right now, and what might help you feel restored. Even small, intentional choices can support a sense of calm and clarity.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or emotionally tired, therapy can help you build space to reset not just for the weekend, but for everyday life.

Wishing you a peaceful and restorative weekend

That can happen when past experiences are quietly influencing the present. Trauma can shape how the nervous system responds, especially in situations that feel familiar to old stress, conflict, or loss. You may notice yourself reacting quickly, pulling away, becoming overwhelmed, or feeling on edge without fully understanding why.

These reactions often developed during times when you had to adapt in order to cope. Even when life is safer now, the body can still respond based on what it learned before.

Therapy creates space to pause, notice these patterns, and understand where they come from. With time and support, it becomes easier to respond to what is happening now rather than what once was.

Understanding your reactions is not about judgment. It is about clarity and growth.

The way we interpret situations shapes how we feel, react, and move through the day. When our thoughts automatically lean negative, it can impact our mood, our relationships, and our confidence.

Learning to see the positive means recognizing thought patterns that are no longer serving you and practicing new ways to respond. Over time, small shifts in perspective can lead to meaningful changes in how you experience daily life.

Therapy offers a supportive space to explore these patterns, build healthier ways of thinking, and develop tools that help you feel more balanced and in control.

Growth often begins by noticing what’s happening in your mind and choosing to approach it with intention.

Stress, anxiety, trauma, and emotional exhaustion can sometimes lead to unwanted or distressing thoughts. These thoughts can feel confusing or alarming, especially when they do not match a person’s values, character, or intentions. Having them does not mean someone wants to act on them, and it does not define who they are.

Mental health professionals understand that thoughts are often signals of overwhelm rather than truths that must be believed or followed. With guidance and support, people can learn how to respond to difficult thoughts in healthier ways, reduce their intensity, and feel more grounded and in control.

Support provides a safe, nonjudgmental space to explore what is happening internally and to develop tools for coping, clarity, and relief. Help is available, and reaching out is a meaningful step toward healing.
