A lot of CF roles promise “support", but what does that actually look like day to day?

Here’s what you should be looking for:
✔️ A mentor who’s trained and chosen for you, not randomly assigned
✔️ Support beyond the minimum ASHA requirements (not just check-ins to sign off hours)
✔️ Access to multiple clinical leaders when you’re stuck, not just one point of contact
✔️ Real opportunities to build skills in specialty areas like AAC or feeding
✔️ Structured time to collaborate with other CFs, not figuring it out alone

Finishing your CF year is a huge milestone - congrats if you’re there or almost there 👏

But one thing a lot of SLPs don’t find out until the end is that some roles shift clinicians into 1099 status once they get their Cs.
That can mean no benefits, no time off, and more responsibility around taxes and income stability.
If that’s not what you want, you do have options.

At Nyman, our clinicians remain W2 employees with benefits, support, and consistency as they transition from CF to CCC and beyond.

We had such a great time yesterday at Temple University’s CSD Career Exploration Fair! 🎓

It was wonderful connecting with so many passionate undergraduate and graduate CSD students who are preparing to begin their careers in speech-language pathology. Our team loved sharing more about life at Nyman Associates, our CF program, and other school-based and EI opportunities for students exploring different paths after graduation.
