As the holy month of Ramadan begins, we extend our heartfelt respect and warm wishes to all who are observing. Ramadan is a sacred time of reflection, prayer, fasting, generosity, and community. It is a season that centers compassion, gratitude, and caring for others — values that resonate deeply with our own commitment to walking alongside individuals and families with compassion and guidance.

To our friends, colleagues, patients, families, and neighbors observing Ramadan: May this month bring you peace, strength, spiritual renewal, and meaningful moments with those you love.

Ramadan Mubarak. ✨

We wish those who celebrate Ramadan a peaceful and blessed holiday. If you are in need of grief support, you can find out more information by clicking the Learn More button at the top of our page or by contacting the Grief Center at GriefCenter@stillwater-hospice.org or 260-435-3261.

Love at the end of life often shows up quietly.
In hand-holding.
In shared memories.
In knowing someone else is helping carry the weight.

Love Shows Up.
This Valentine’s Day, we’re reminded that love is more than flowers and cards.
It’s a hand held during a difficult diagnosis.
A quiet presence at the bedside.
A phone call to check in.
A counselor listening without judgment.
At Stillwater Hospice, love looks like compassion, comfort, and guidance—especially when life feels uncertain. It’s our privilege to walk alongside patients and families, helping them make the most of every moment.
Whether you are caring for someone, missing someone, or simply holding someone close today, know this:
Love never stops showing up. And neither do we.
Happy Valentine’s Day from all of us at Stillwater Hospice.

Caregivers give so much of themselves.
They don’t need perfection.
They need reassurance, support, and someone walking beside them.

A century of commitment

The seeds of Visiting Nurse were planted in 1888, when women of the growing city of Fort Wayne, Indiana, banded together to deliver food and medicine to the “sick poor.” On March 1, 1900, Visiting Nurse was incorporated and hired its first paid nurse. Visiting Nurse’s mission is to provide compassionate care to alleviate suffering and ensure quality of life for those affected by serious illness through our hospice and palliative care services. Visiting Nurse cares for those who go on living, with grief support services available at no charge for any adult who has experienced the loss of a loved one. Hospice involvement is not required. We serve these Indiana counties: Adams, Allen, DeKalb, Huntington, Noble, Wabash, Wells and Whitley.
