We are so grateful to for their incredible generosity this Easter.

Because of Umi's thoughtful donation of a delicious Easter dinner, families staying with their loved ones at our Hospice Home were able to share a warm, meaningful meal together on Sunday, April 5. In moments that matter most, something as simple as a shared table can bring comfort, connection, and a sense of normalcy.

Umi, thank you for showing such kindness to the families we serve. Your compassion made a difficult day a little lighter—and reminded our families that they are not alone.

Because of Katz, Sapper & Miller, our mission lives on for generations to come.

Something many families don't know: hospice support isn't just for the patient. It's for you, too.
Stillwater supports family caregivers through every stage — and our Peggy F. Murphy Community Grief Center offers free grief support to any adult in our community, no prior hospice connection needed.

Big thanks to the outstanding young people with the Aboite Baptist Church youth group who volunteered on Sunday to help us accomplish our spring cleanup of our campus on Homestead Road. The amount of work done was exceeded only by their kind, generous, energetic spirits!

A century of commitment

The seeds of Visiting Nurse were planted in 1888, when women of the growing city of Fort Wayne, Indiana, banded together to deliver food and medicine to the “sick poor.” On March 1, 1900, Visiting Nurse was incorporated and hired its first paid nurse. Visiting Nurse’s mission is to provide compassionate care to alleviate suffering and ensure quality of life for those affected by serious illness through our hospice and palliative care services. Visiting Nurse cares for those who go on living, with grief support services available at no charge for any adult who has experienced the loss of a loved one. Hospice involvement is not required. We serve these Indiana counties: Adams, Allen, DeKalb, Huntington, Noble, Wabash, Wells and Whitley.
