It's okay to let a call go to voicemail. In fact, it's one of the best ways to prevent a scam! Let callers leave a message and you can decide whether or not to call them back.

1. This gives you time to think about what they are saying and doesn't put pressure on you.
2. You can look up phone numbers to be sure the calls were from real organizations.
3. If they don't leave a message, then you don't need to worry about it.

Medical identity theft occurs when a beneficiary’s Medicare number is misused, either by a provider, a supplier or by someone posing as the real beneficiary in order to receive medical care.

Such Medicare numbers are considered “compromised.” A beneficiary whose number is compromised may be affected forever by false claims against their Medicare number.

If you believe you may have given out your Medicare number, contact the Senior Medicare Patrol today by calling 1-877-808-2468.
