We are deeply saddened by the passing of Karen, our CDM and colleague of 7 years. Karen’s dedication and commitment to caring for others made a lasting impact on our residents and team. She will be greatly missed. Our heartfelt condolences go out to her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of working with her.
Karen Elaine Dyer, age 60 of Auburn, passed away on Thursday, December 18, 2025 at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne.
She was born on July 31, 1965 in Paulding, Ohio to Andrew and Marilyn (Murphy) Lichty. She was a 1983 graduate of Antwerp High School in Antwerp, Ohio.
Karen had worked as a certified dietary manager for the last seven years at St. Anne Nursing Home and Retirement Community in Fort Wayne. She enjoyed watching NASCAR, spending time at the lake and she was an avid reader. Most of all, Karen enjoyed spending time with her family.
Survivors include:
Her daughter, Lindsay Dyer and her dog, Max of Auburn.
Her parents, Andy and Marilyn Lichty of Big Turkey Lake.
Sister and brother-in-law, Kim and Rick Kinney and their dog, Allie of New Haven.
Several loving aunts, uncles and cousins.
Karen is preceded in death by her husband, Dave Dyer who passed away on December 3, 2005; maternal grandparents, Bob and Evelyn Murphy; paternal grandparents, Max and Mary Lichty and special dogs, Murphy and Lexi.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 23, 2025 from 12:00 Noon to 2:00 PM at the Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 1860 South Center Street in Auburn.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday following the visitation at 2:00 PM at the funeral home with Pastor Craig Burkholder officiating.
Burial will take place at the Woodlawn Cemetery in Auburn.
Memorial donations may be given in memory of Karen to her daughter, Lindsay to help with her future.
