This workshop is for women navigating perimenopause or menopause who find themselves carrying anger, frustration, and emotional overload. We’ll welcome irritability and big feelings as natural responses to change. These are not problems to fix, but understandable responses in a culture that asks women to stay pleasant through discomfort.

Using somatic-informed yoga, we’ll move anger through the body in safe, powerful ways. Expect strong poses, intentional breathwork, and a grounded landing set to a ’90s soundtrack to match the mood. This is a space for honesty, humor, release, and taking up space.

Wear comfortable clothing, bring water, your yoga mat, and a notebook or journal.

About the Instructor: Amber Sewell has been teaching yoga since 2017 and is deeply passionate about somatic yoga and embodied practices. She creates classes that invite curiosity, honesty, and a sense of agency in the body.

In addition to teaching yoga, she is a mental health counselor with specialized training in somatics. This background shapes her trauma-aware approach and attention to nervous system safety.

Advance registration is required and space is strictly limited to ensure a great experience for all. You can register at the studio, in the MindBody app, or via this link:

https://clients.mindbodyonline.com/classic/ws?studioid=28531&stype=-8&sTG=23&sVT=10&sView=day&sLoc=0&sTrn=100000083&date=01/18/26

You can also call or text 260 710 6428. Please do not send card information by text. Let us know you would like to reserve a space and we will call you for your card details.

Last Chance to Sign Up

If you have experienced the loss of a loved one over the past few years, join us for this gentle, highly intentional practice of movement, breath-work, guided meditation, and relaxation. We will allow grief to move through the body, mind, and spirit with care and self-compassion. After roughly 75- 85 minutes of practice, we will hold space for reflection and sharing as much or as little as desired for whomever wishes to participate.

The workshop will be led by Lesa Rae Vartarian, Ph.D., developmental psychologist, death educator for over 25 years and Registered Yoga Teacher.

Donations to Erin’s House for Grieving Children will be gratefully accepted in lieu of any class fees.

Whether or not you were able to join the Yoga for Grief workshop in November and/or in December, you are more than welcome. January's session will be similar to, but not identical to the earlier workshops and it will not assume that attendees were with us previously. To reserve a space, or to ask questions reply to this email, send a text to 260 710 6428. You can also book on MindBody or at the studio.

Special Yoga Series for Grief: Getting Through the Holiday Season

Though everyone must navigate loss throughout our lives, we often feel lost and isolated in our grief. Then, here come the holidays. It can be overwhelming and intense when you are missing “your person.” But we are not alone in this experience. Just as anyone can do gentle yoga, everyone experiences grief and can heal from it with compassion and support.

We are offering a 2-hour workshop on a Saturday from 3-5 pm on December 13.

This workshop will be similar to, but not identical, to the very successful Grief Workshop we held in November. If you came to the November session, you are very welcome to come in December as well. If you could not make it November, that will not make the December workshop any less helpful. (There will also be a third session on Saturday, January 10, which we will announce separately nearer that time.)

Each session will include a gentle, highly intentional practice of movement, breathwork, guided meditation, and relaxation. We will allow grief to move through the body, mind, and spirit with care and self-compassion. After roughly 75-85 minutes of practice, we will hold space for reflection and sharing as much or as little as desired for whomever wishes to participate.

Sessions will be led by Lesa Rae Vartanian, Ph.D., developmental psychologist and death educator for over 25 years. She will provide some brief grief education to help normalize and understand what you may be experiencing, along with some take-home resources that can help us get through this often challenging, but still beautiful time.

No previous yoga experience is needed—please come as you are, wherever you are in your grief journey (and wherever you are in your yoga practice). This is a supportive space where our grief is acknowledged and honored. Donations to Erin’s House for Grieving Children will be gratefully accepted in lieu of any class fees.

You can sign up for the workshop in MindBody or at the studio.

If you have questions about the workshops, please do not hesitate to let us know by email at simplyyogafw@gmail.com or by text at 260 710 6428
