Musical books are a fun way to incorporate books into sessions or at home! This book series will show you how I use books in my sessions. I did it in one take so you can see all my mistakes too because mistakes are normal!

Tips:
📕Keep the melodies simple- some books like this one you likely already know the melody to the original song!
📗Model the words you already know
📘If you want you can pick out words ahead of time. Write on sticky notes how to find that word in your aac system

Join me in using musical books with your AAC users! Music helps make the book even more exciting to read and can help with engagement.

Don’t feel like you have to keep the song going at all times! If they stop tin point out things in the book go with them in that- the melody will still be there for you to go back to when they are ready to turn the page.

AAC information is hard to find all in one place! To know what I know now I had to go to multiple websites, read the right articles and books and take several classes.

We don’t have time to do all that!! I know you want information that is all in one place and you can learn at your own speed taking what you need and then going back for more when you are ready.

This happened going into an AAC meeting- I totally used it as an example right then!

Have you ever had this happen? Maybe not this exact scenario but something where your whole motor plan was thrown off and you suddenly couldn’t easily do what you were trying to?

These things need talked about it more! It’s normal to feel overwhelmed with AAC- there are people who can help!

It’s normal to be frustrated by the system- let’s work to change it!

Parents don’t let someone give you the short end of the training stick. If they aren’t able to there are people who would love to work with you!
