Today we honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
Dr. King understood something that still feels radical:
that justice is not only political, it is deeply personal.
Racism, discrimination, and inequality don’t just shape systems.
They shape nervous systems.
They live in bodies as stress, anxiety, depression, grief, and trauma.
Mental health cannot be separated from the social world we live in.
When people are denied safety, dignity, or belonging, the harm doesn’t stay abstract, it becomes emotional and embodied.
At Folx & Friends Counseling, we believe that affirming, inclusive, and culturally responsive care is not optional, it is essential.
Healing happens when people are seen fully, heard deeply, and treated with respect for who they are and where they come from.
As Dr. King reminded us,
“Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.”
Today, and every day, we remain committed to care that honors humanity, diversity, and the ongoing work of healing, both individually and collectively.
