The future of professional case management may be significantly impacted by a new U.S. Department of Education proposal. The proposed changes could narrow federal loan eligibility for graduate degrees in Nursing, Social Work, Counseling, and Allied Health—the very backbone of our profession.

Why this matters: Creating financial barriers to these essential degrees threatens patient safety, workforce sustainability, and the interprofessional model of care we rely on every day.

The public comment period closes in two days on March 2nd, 2026. We need every case manager to stand up and speak out.

What you can do:
1️. Read the full briefing on how this impacts our field.
2️. Submit your official comment to the Dept. of Education today.
3️. Use CMSA’s advocacy tools (template letters and phone scripts) to reach your legislators.
