A little Thanksgiving-Back 👨‍🍳 We had a great time volunteering at the Community Harvest Food Bank - Fort Wayne. From going through all the food, organizing like items, and making sure they are ready to be stocked on the shelves, we look forward to our next visit! 🤝

The Indy Fuel season is rolling, and our crew is all in 🏒 You can usually find us holding down Section 103, hyping up the games, and soaking in every minute 🥅

Community outings like these aren’t just fun but they help increase confidence in navigating busy community settings, practice social skills, and practical money skills.

BDS will be working with the Human Services Research Institute (HSRI) to host virtual and in-person group and individual conversations throughout the state to learn from people receiving services, families, service providers, and case managers about what changes are needed. Based on the feedback received, HSRI will develop recommendations for waiver reset.

HSRI will be hosting a dedicated conversation with service providers who are members of the Indiana Association of Adult Day Services (IAADS) to discuss challenges, concerns, and opportunities for the waiver reset.

Kicking off the week the right way 💪 This group hit the gym for their Recreational Therapy sessions, and it’s always a reminder of how much exercise does for our clients. Increasing strength, cardio health, decreasing stress/anxiety, and just feeling good about starting the week with intention. Health and fitness aren’t just workouts for us, they’re confidence, routine, independence, and showing people what they’re capable of. Great job team!

🎉 Happy 9th Birthday to our therapy dog, Loki! 🎉

If you’ve ever walked into our office, you’ve probably been greeted by this sweet face. Loki has been part of our team for years, bringing comfort, laughs, and a whole lot of calm to our clients and staff.

He never hesitates to spend time in therapy sessions, hangs out during tough moments, and somehow knows exactly who needs a little extra love that day. He’s truly one of a kind.

Here’s to 9 years of the best therapy dog around. We love you, Loki 💜 🐾

Fall Activities Continued 🍂 As the weather cools down, we’re reflecting on some of our favorite moments from the season, warmer days spent at pumpkin patches, apple orchards, and outdoor playgrounds! We love seeing everyone enjoy the changing seasons, celebrating friendship, fun, and new experiences along the way 😊

🧘‍♀️ Adaptive Yoga with Prana Yoga 🧘 Each month, we partner with our friends at Prana Yoga & Wellness for an Adaptive Yoga Class built for people of all abilities. These sessions are all about movement and connection, hopefully to meet each person exactly where they are in their wellness journey. Yoga helps build flexibility, balance, and strength, while also easing stress and sharpening focus. Through seated, supported, or standing poses, every participant can experience the benefits in their own way.

Recreational therapy sessions at Funland Indoor Playground 🛝 Through therapeutic play, this group practiced balance, movement, coordination, and social skills. These obstacles create opportunities to strengthen the body and mind in a supportive environment.
